Mushrooms

Wild mushrooms are rife in woods of the Chiltern Hills

In the woods this morning, on my daily walk with my two lovely labradors, I made an amazing discovery…..mushrooms, loads of them, different shapes, sizes and colours all over the woods.

Now, I love foraging but mushrooms are the one thing that I won’t touch in the wild due the fact that eating certain types of mushrooms can kill you and unless you are a mushroom expert you NEVER ever pick and eat mushrooms found growing wild.  It’s just too risky.

If there are any mushroom experts out there who would like to identify these for me please email me at beverley.glock@splatcooking.com and I’ll post your answers.

Some look like parasols or mini carousels for fairies, some look like miniature medieval cities, some look distinctly sinister – the white shiny ones wouldn’t look out of place in Dr Who, all are beautiful.
