The Guild of Foodwriters, of which I am a member, has launched their annual children’s cookery competitions, Cook it! and Write it!
Cook it! is aimed at children aged 10-14 years and they have to create a 2 course meal menu for 2-4 people, the judges are looking for creativity and originality as well a fabulous cookery skills. The menu doesn’t have to be complicated, just original. Closing date for entries is 28 April 2011
Write it! is aimed at those 18 years old or younger and they need to write 1000 words of fiction or non fiction on any food related subject, so this could be a restaurant review, a visit to a market, a campaign article or a short story. Closing date for entries is 13 May 2011
